What is a FlipShotz Photo Book and how is it different from a traditional photo album?

A FlipShotz Photo Book is a custom-printed, bound book created using our mobile app. Instead of loose prints, you design your story directly on your phone, select a cover style, upload photos, and we print and ship a high-quality keepsake. It's more convenient, portable, and modern than traditional photo albums.

Who is FlipShotz for?

Can I design the book entirely on my phone and order from there?

Yes. Our mobile app (iOS & Android) allows you to upload photos, choose templates, customize layouts and order your book—all from your device.

How do I design a photo book?

Create a book: Hit the blue plus icon at the bottom of the screen to create a new book. Then select a cover photo, size, cover type, and name your book and you're off and running. Add pages: Once the book is created, you can add pages with up to five photos on each page. Select a layout based on the number of photos you've added to the page and then fine tune the size and position of the photos on the page preview screen. Complete the book: After you've designed the book, mark it complete in your Projects tab. This will move the book to your Library, where you can add it to your shopping cart and purchase the book.

Can multiple family members collaborate?

Yes—one person can create the book and invite collaborators (via email or link) who can upload photos, suggest edits, or add pages. Everyone sees the latest version and you remain in control of final submission.

What sizes, cover types, binding styles and finishes are available?

We offer multiple sizes of hardcover bound books in either matte or glossy finish. We offer books in the following sizes: • 12x12 (Square) • 11x8.5 (Landscape) • 8.5x11 (Portrait) • 8x10 (Portrait) • 8x8 (Square)

How many pages and photos can I include?

Books start at 20 pages and can go up to 380 pages in size. There is an additional cost per page beyond the 20 included in the base price of a book.

What paper, binding and material quality can I expect?

FlipShotz photo books are printed on premium 100# (148 gsm) paper with a smooth gloss finish designed to make your photos look vibrant and detailed. Pages feel substantial and durable—similar to high-quality magazine or photo-book stock—without being overly thick. Each book is produced using professional binding that keeps pages secure while allowing the book to open comfortably. Covers and materials are selected to deliver a polished, long-lasting keepsake that looks and feels premium from front to back.

Will the printed colors match what I see on my phone?

While we calibrate our printers for fidelity, phone screens vary by model, lighting and color profile. We recommend previewing your design in different lighting and using high-resolution original photos (minimum 300 dpi) for optimal results.

What is the turnaround time from order to delivery?

Standard production time is 4-5 business days after you submit the final design. Shipping time depends on your location.

Can I reorder additional copies easily for family members?

Yes. Once you've completed and purchased a book, you can reorder duplicates at any time. Completed books are stored in Library tab of the app.

Can I edit an existing book or change the design after initially saving it?

Yes. Click the three dots next to the book in your Library and select Make Copy. A copy of the book will be created in your Library that you can edit.

What occasions or use-cases are best for a FlipShotz photo book?

What file types/resolution are supported for upload?

We support JPG/JPEG and PNG formats. For optimal print quality, upload images at 300 dpi or higher.

Where are my photos stored? What happens after I order?

Your uploaded images are stored securely in your FlipShotz account. After printing your book, you retain access to the completed book (for reordering). We won't share your images with third-parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What if there's a printing error or defect? What's the return/refund policy?

If you receive a book with a manufacturing defect (e.g., missing pages, misbound, major print error), contact support within 30 days and we'll either reprint or refund. Please provide photographs of the defect. Minor aesthetic issues (e.g., slight color variation) are reviewed case-by-case.

How is the cost determined?

FlipShotz photo books start at $29.99 for an 8×8 book and go up to $41.99 for a 12×12 book. All books include 20 pages with free shipping. Extra pages range from $0.50 to $1.00 each depending on size. Both gloss and matte hardcover finishes are available at the same price. The app provides real-time pricing as you build.
